Ranked Top Independent School In London About Us The Swaminarayan School was founded in 1991 by His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj to provide education along the lines of independent British schools, whilst reinforcing Hindu culture and tradition. The curriculum followed in this section of the school is the Early Learning Goals and we participate in the Nursery Voucher Scheme. The Foundation Stage includes the Kindergarten for the rising threes, Nursery for the rising fours and Reception for the rising five year olds. This excellent behaviour of pupils together with the generous staffing ratio and commitment from parents allows our teachers to help pupils achieve their full potential. The most striking aspect that always attracts comment from visitors is the purposeful atmosphere, both in classrooms and throughout the school. Since those early days excellent progress has been made in all areas. Now there are around 475 pupils in the school and already the school's first graduates have been back as guests at our prize days. The recent inspection report said: Throughout both schools, pupils retain their composure before and during lessons, show self-control and acquire a sense of purpose about their schooling. We admitted our first eighty or so pupils in the Prep School in September 1992 and decided to open the Senior School the following September because of parental demand. The most striking aspect of this school that visitors always comment on is the purposeful atmosphere, both in the classrooms and throughout the school. Since those early days we have made excellent progress in all areas. Now there are over 460 pupils in the school and we have already produced our first graduates.
