Osteopathic Association Clinic ABOUT THE CLINIC The clinic is a charity and was set up in 1927 to treat patients who cannot afford private fees. The College is recognised by the General Osteopathic Council and so its graduates are eligible to be fully registered osteopaths. Those in training spend over 80% of that time is treating patients in the Clinic under the close supervision of tutors who are qualified osteopaths, registered with the General Osteopathic Council, most of whom are graduates of the College themselves and are therefore also medically qualified. (pensions, JSA, ESA, working tax credits etc.) London College of Osteopathic Medicine About the College The London College of Osteopathic Medicine (LCOM) was founded in 1946 to provide training in osteopathic principles and methods for people who were already qualified medical doctors. While we are very pleased if patients who can afford it offer us more, if you have financial problems we are happy to take whatever donation you can manage and we would suggest an appointment with one of our medical practictioners under training to help us keep running costs to a minimum. This subsidised amount barely covers the running costs of the clinic as we are a non-profit making organisation. To make an appointment telephone 020 7262 1128 WHAT WILL TREATMENT COST? As a charity we receive no government or NHS funding, and rely solely on donations, we currently suggest a donation of 30 per treatment. Our doctors can also send patients for scans and x rays where needed without the need for a GP referal. We are also able to offer you treatments other than osteopathy, some of our doctors are able to offer injections for some conditions where this type of treatment is more beneficial. The staff at the clinic are qualified medical osteopaths or qualified medical practictioners training to be osteopaths, and see patients under the supervision of our tutors, and we ask for a donation to our clinic when you have a treatment.
