Indian Zilla, at 2-3 Rocks Lane, is now open, the third restaurant from chef proprietor Manoj Vasaikar, London SW13. The tandoori oven is used imaginatively, not only for the obvious candidates such as chicken and lamb, but also for fruit (figs served with apple crumble for example) and vegetables (aubergine & paneer). Dishes at Indian Zilla display Manojs signature lightness of touch and understanding of flavour. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner daily, eat in or take-away. Zilla, and served by friendly, led by Manoj, carefully prepared by talented chefs, and offers a place to enjoy authentic Indian dishes, efficient staff. They include his signature Vegetable Bhanavla (a modern take on the onion bhaji), Mussel Rasam, (mussels simmered in a tomato and tamarind broth) and Khyber Pass Raan (braised shank of lamb in a strongly spiced gravy).
